A Winter Weather Advisory continues until midnight for most of the KNIA/KRLS listening area.

Marion, Warren, Mahaska, Jasper, Poweshiek, Lucas, Monroe, and Polk Counties are all under the advisory area, where up to an inch of snow is possible, as is freezing drizzle over the next several hours.

Many roads have become partially covered with slush or ice as well, and state and county plows are out to try and clear what they can. Conditions will become difficult as a burst of cold air arrives tonight, which will likely freeze any wet pavement. Travel conditions could be slick through the early morning hours. Additionally, wind chills will dip to as low as five below zero overnight.

Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest weather information.
