A stretch of well-above average temperatures will continue to hold off winter activities involving ice.

Daytime highs over the next seven days are expected to top out in the mid to upper 40s, peaking this weekend over 50. Pella Community Services Director Jeanette Vaughan tells KRLS News there will be no ice skating at Caldwell Park unless the temperature dips below freezing and stays there for consecutive days.

Additionally, any ice forming overnight on area lakes, ponds, and streams will be unstable and unsafe until a similar stretch of cold weather comes to the area.
