Habitat for Humanity of Marion County has been on the move with several houses over the past year — and another was relocated in Pella this week.

Executive Director Robin Pfalzgraf tells KRLS News one of the houses moved from the 700 block of Independence Street helped generate funds for the non-profit, as they came to own it, but the structure didn’t fit their typical mold.

“That house was not really a typical habitat home,” she says. “We’re going to do some little bits–we’re putting in a new basement in, tuck under garage, and we’ll paint probably, and then that house will go up for sale, and then the proceeds will go into new houses.”

Pflazgraf says the next home on the move will be Thursday from the same area on the 700 block of Independence, with that structure used for a Habitat family at Brook Circle.

Those with questions about supporting the Habitat for Humanity mission or those wanting to apply to become homeowners can find more information at Crossroads of Pella or the Habitat office in Knoxville.
