The Warren County Board of Supervisors will be meeting at a new time once a month, to better accommodate those who can’t attend the meetings that begin midmorning.

The meetings, which normally occur at 9:30am on the first and third Tuesday of each month, will now have the second meeting of the month take place at 6pm. Newly sworn in supervisor Aaron DeKock tells KNIA News this was a platform of his to help make the meetings more publicly accessible.

“I heard a lot of people saying to me during the campaign, my spouse and I work and we just can’t get there unless it directly impacts us and it’s a hot button issue and maybe we can take off work for it. But it just seemed like the meeting time was prohibitive for people to attend, and so we are going to give the public more opportunity to come and provide public input and guidance on important issues.”

DeKock also said that it was one of the goals of the new board to make the meetings easier to follow, and will now be available for the public on video to watch and will eventually be livestreamed.
