Saturday will see an event devoted to Coaches vs. Cancer, one week in advance of the annual fundraising game at Knoxville High School.

Friendly Guys & Gals 4-H Club will host a soup supper on Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with all the proceeds going to Coaches vs. Cancer and the American Cancer Society.

It will be at the Iowa State University Extension Office for Marion County in Knoxville; the menu features chili, chicken noodle, vegetable beef and cheesy potato.

The event is being held in memory of Sarah Collins, the mother of 4-H members Sean and Natalia, as well as Chasen Stevenson, a former 4-H president and alumnus. It’s also taking place in honor of Mike McGill, the father of current president Mickayla McGill and member Kaden McGill.

Coming up next week, the Coaches vs. Cancer T-shirts will be available; they can be picked up at the Knoxville School District’s various schools, as well as the distribution event on Wednesday night from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the high school commons.
