In an effort to delay another round of budget reductions, the Pella School Board approved increasing the district’s instructional support levy at their meeting this week.

Superintendent Greg Ebeling says it’s a one-time, revenue neutral move to adjust their various spending accounts to make up for a few years of low state aid in the general fund. Ebeling says the move could buy them additional years of having to look at reductions to staff, especially if the district continues enrollment growth and legislators provide a cost-of-business increase annually.
