Snow and severe cold forced the postponement of Saturday night’s Coaches vs. Cancer games at Knoxville High School; but organizers will get another chance, as the girls and boys varsity games move to Thursday night.

The schedule of events for the games will be identical to what was planned for this past weekend; there will be a silent auction, the Chuck-a-Duck promotion, the presentation of checks between games and a ceremony in honor of cancer survivors.

Chariton remains the opponent for both games, and for the first time one of the cancer survivors to be recognized is from Chariton.

Meanwhile, one other event related to Coaches vs. Cancer has been rescheduled — in this case, for the second time.

The Friendly Guys & Gals 4-H Club will now hold its Soup Supper for Coaches vs. Cancer on Saturday, January 26th; it will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Iowa State Extension building in Knoxville.

This event was originally going to be on Saturday, January 12th; but the snowstorm that weekend forced organizers to move it back to the 19th…only to have this weekend’s storm force another schedule change.
