Indianola Parks and Rec is hosting the Pickard Cocoa Classic 5K Run/Walk fundraiser on February 16th.
Kathy Kester with Indianola Parks and Rec tells KNIA News the event is set to raise funds for a special cause.
“We’re gonna be freezin’ for a reason, and the reason we’re gonna be freezin’ is to raise funds for the Inclusive Play Equipment Project to buy playground equipment anyone can use at Pickard Park. You’ll get to stand next to a roaring fire and enjoy some cocoa, and if you don’t want to walk it just consider a donation and come out for a fun morning at Pickard Park.”
Registration for the event costs $25 if you register before February 1st, and $30 if you register after, and registrations will be taken the day of the race. The Inclusive Play Equipment Project for Pickard Park is sponsored by Indianola Kiwanis and the Indianola Rotary Club.
