Formal invitations will be going out soon for the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce annual gathering; this year’s event is meant to encourage Chamber members and non-members alike to find out what the organization has done, and what it expects to accomplish in the coming year.
The gathering will be at the Grand Theater in downtown Knoxville on Tuesday, February 26th; it will feature a social hour from 5:30 to 6:30, and then a slide presentation on one of the main screens highlighting the Chamber’s achievements over the past year.
Hannah Vander Veer is the director of the Knoxville Chamber; she tells KNIA/KRLS News this is a can’t-miss event for any Knoxville business figure.
“We understand that members are busy, and if they only come to one event a year it should be this one,” Vander Veer says. “It gives them an opportunity to hear what’s going on at the Chamber, talk to other businesses and hear what our plan is for the year to come.”
Vander Veer says most of the Chamber’s official functions are designed to give participants the opportunity to network with other business persons and companies; but she says this is a prime opportunity for those who haven’t been heavily involved in Chamber activities to get to know others in the organization and in the community at large.
