One of the amendments being considered by the Iowa Legislature would restore voting rights to those convicted of crimes who served their time.
State Senator Ken Rozenboom tells KRLS News it’s been overdue to make the process easier for those citizens to have their voting rights reviewed. Additionally, Rozenboom says he’s heard talk of bills expanding protection and rights to victims of crimes to ensure they have a better time when reporting crimes.
He says both will likely be considered by both the Iowa House and Senate this session.
