Indianola Hometown Pride held their second annual organizational summit at The Groggy Dog on the Indianola downtown square Wednesday evening, with interested parties from different service organizations braving the cold to attend.

The summit was organized with the purpose of combining goals and learning what the different service groups do in Indianola. Board Chair of Indianola Hometown Pride Emmett Konrad tells KNIA News this summit is building towards a much bigger event down the road.

“This is laying groundwork, we want to see what interest there is to have a sort of what we are calling an organization expo. It’s kind of like a job fair where our different organizations set up on the square or somewhere, and members of the public can come and visit and maybe have some music and food, and learn more about what types of opportunities are out there.”

Konrad also said another goal is to have these types of meetings on a regular basis, to encourage better cooperation.
