Scoring has never been a problem for the Freland household at PCM. On Friday, junior Regan Freland joined her older sister Rachel in the exclusive 1,000-point club and etched herself into Mustang lore for years to come.
Rachel, now a senior at Simpson College and averaging nine points a game for the Storm, graduated from PCM in 2015 as the leading scorer. Two years later as a freshman Regan continued the family tradition leading the Mustangs in scoring and has never looked back since, now in her junior campaign. Regan tells KRLS Sports it is pretty special for the both of them to accomplishment this feat.
“It is so cool and is something we have always wanted to do. We grew up playing together and I always joked with her that I am going to break her records. We always have fun competitions.”
Oddly enough, the accomplishments were almost exactly four years apart with Rachel reaching the milestone on January 27th, 2015 in a win over Collins-Maxwell/Baxter and Regan passing it on January 25th, 2019 in a win over Greene County. You can hear the entire interview with Regan below.
