A round of snow halted travel and cancelled several events over the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, six inches of snow fell in Pella, 6.5 in Knoxville, and 4.9” in Monroe, based on measurements they received through Saturday morning. A report of eight inches of snow in Bussey was also recorded, and listeners said they saw seven inches in Pleasantville and Knoxville. Much of that snow was blowing, causing issues with several area roads into Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, another round of light snow made roads slick, with some communities in the area seeing another one to two inches of snow.

An active January continues, with a chance of freezing rain and snow impacting the region Tuesday afternoon. Another round of bitter cold is also in the forecast, as wind chills will dip to well below zero Thursday into Friday. Stay tuned to 92.1 KRLS for the latest winter weather information.
