Central College is remembering the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. with several events between now and the end of February.

A display has been set up in the Maytag Student Center discussing the history of the famous civil rights leader in the 1960s, including his visit to Central College nearly 52 years ago, and will remain in place through Friday. On Thursday, a conversation about “Beloved Community” will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Central Market, followed by a service project from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Maytag Center, which this year involves blanket tying led by Pella School District teacher Annie Wignall Foskett, who is Founder of the Care Bags Foundation.
