The Indianola Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards banquet Thursday evening at Simpson College.

Four chamber awards were given out, with Steve Saylor of the Indianola Hy-Vee winning Employee of the Year, Sally Van Dorin winning Educator of the Year, Peterson Funeral Home winning the Golden Hammer Business Improvement Award, and Elodie Opstand was honored with the Steven G. Pfeifer Volunteer award. Simpson College also gave out three awards for excellence, with Heather Hulen, Marilyn Leek, and Gina Piper given honors. The chamber dinner also featured guest speaker Nile Ramsbottom, who spoke to chamber members on effective leadership, and finding significance in life.
