The Pella School Board reviewed the district’s standing with the new Every Student Succeeds Act progress at their meeting Thursday.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling tells KRLS News the new legislation replaced No Child Left Behind, and measures school performance on a variety of factors. He says one area of concern is that Pella High School is now listed on the “targeted” category, which requires administration to come up with a plan to get the academics of certain groups of students back on track. A
t the rest of the meeting, the board also heard from teachers and administrators about the district’s goals for the state’s teacher leadership program, reviewed a district climate survey completed by staff, and entered into closed session to complete the evaluation of Superintendent Greg Ebeling.
