The Pella City Council approved a project engineer for the proposed Tuttle Cabin walkway at their meeting Tuesday evening. Klingner and Associates was awarded a nearly $25,000 contract to survey, design, and observe construction — which will be paid for by Historic Pella Trust, who is partnering with the city to establish a learning path from the cabin on Lincoln Street to Sunken Gardens Park. Council received a presentation from the PACE Alliance about a funding request and how the organization has impacted numerous projects in the community. Many on the council had concerns about the concrete results generated by the group after two years of $30,000 investment from the city. Council also approved the final plat for the Bos Ridge Subdivision located at Highway T-15 and Bos Landen Drive, as well as a development agreement with Harvest Investments for tax rebates relating to additional infrastructure needed to build the project including a 41-unit housing cooperative and 10 single family homes. They also adopted an ordinance amending a development agreement for the Webster Park Project south of downtown Pella on Main Street.
