In the midst of Monday night’s snowfall, Knoxville utility workers were called out to fix a broken water main not far from their own headquarters.

Knoxville Water Works employees were called around 6 o’clock to Pleasant Street and Roche Street; they were on the scene until about 9 p.m. repairing the main and flushing it out by opening a hydrant. No disruptions to customer service was reported.

Knoxville streets are back to regular parking after the end of the snowfall; once the snow stopped and streets were plowed, the snow ordinance was no longer in effect. Sidewalks still have to be cleared within 24 hours, or homeowners may be billed by the city for snow removal.

Police Chief Dan Losada says 26 tickets were issued for vehicles which were illegally parked, but no major problems were reported.
