Winter weather continues to play havoc with the Knoxville High School sports schedule; and now, the school will be used as the site for a second playoff game.
Monday night’s snowfall forced the Knoxville School District to cancel classes, and to move the boys basketball game against Carlisle to today; it will tip off at 4:15 at the Knoxville High gymnasium.
Afterwards, the school will host a neutral site Class 3A girls regional game between Centerville and South Tama at 6:30; right afterwards, the Knoxville girls open play in the Class 4A regionals as they host Norwalk at 8:00 p.m.
In keeping with Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union rules, the Knoxville gym will be cleared right after the boys game; patrons will have to re-enter and be charged separate admission.
This tripleheader will also be the first of a tripleheader for the boys, with three games in three days; they are scheduled to be at Fairfield on Thursday, and then host Indianola on Friday.
If the girls win their game against Norwalk, they play at Pella on Saturday in the regional semifinal.
