indianola-3

After many reschedules and attempts to meet on the court, the Indianola boys basketball team finally matched up with Pella for second place in the Little Hawkeye Conference Wednesday night, with the Indians pulling away with a 72-65 victory.

Indianola got up big in the first quarter 22-7, but saw their lead gradually fall away throughout the next two quarters as they led 37-31 at halftime and just 49-48 at the end of the third. Throughout the fourth quarter, the Indians did what they needed to do offensively putting up 23 points to seal the victory. Evan Gauger continued his monstrous senior campaign, putting up 40 points, while Quinn Vesey put in 16. Indianola improves to 15-3 overall and 9-3 in conference play, and are now tied for second with Oskaloosa. Indianola will travel to DCG tonight to wrap up the conference season.
