Indianola and Pleasantville wrestlers competed in both the quarterfinals and consolation brackets Friday at the state wrestling meet at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Indianola’s 106lb grappler Ryder Downey fell in his quarterfinal round matchup, picked up a victory in his next consolation match, then fell in his third contest of the day. Downey will wrestle for 7th place and a podium finish today. Nick Bonnano at 145lbs also fell in his quarterfinal matchup, but then picked up three straight wins in the consolation round to stay alive and will wrestle in the 4th round of consolations today.

Pleasantville’s Cael Lester fell in the quarterfinals of the 160lbs bracket, then fell in the consolation round to see his state wrestling meet journey come to a close, with Cale Anthony also falling in the consolation round at 220lbs.
