Hy-Vee’s Healthy You Mobile made a stop in Knoxville on Saturday morning; shoppers were given the opportunity to go on board for medical screenings, to give them a general picture of the state of their health.

Samantha Thomas is a dietitian with Hy-Vee; she tells KNIA/KRLS News this service is invaluable for persons who don’t have time to see a medical professional during the week, or otherwise aren’t able to get to a hospital or clinic.

“A lot of times people with work or their other busy lives, they don’t have the opportunity to go to the physician during the week. So having this van be able to come around and do these screenings is great, to at least give them an idea of where they’re at,” Thomas says.

Visitors had their blood pressure checked, as well as testing blood, cholesterol and other basic health information.
