At the end of every season, most high school basketball coaches will have to make some changes to their roster to replace graduated seniors. Something that is more rare than just replacing a graduated senior however, is replacing the programs all-time leading scorer, as Indianola head coach Brett Watson must do for next season as Evan Gauger has played his final game for the Indians. Gauger averaged 27.2 points per game, 7th in the state and 2nd in class 4A. Gauger was also the team’s leading rebounder grabbing a total of 146, and was the Indians top distributor as well with 86 assists. The Indians will have to replace 8 total seniors as they went 16-5.
