An added dimension to the Pella Christian boys basketball game was the exclamation points on their district finals win earlier this week.
Jayden Huisman has been showing off his dunk, with one or two hands, and his explosiveness now that’s he’s been playing healthy after starting the season with a rather major football-related injury.
Senior Point Guard Jake Pringle says with the three point shooters and Josh Van Gorp post-work existing as key routines in their high-octane offense–it’s Huisman’s dunks that have been giving them a regular energy boost.
“He gets out team going, you just know once he’s driving down the lane that he’s just gonna lay a big one on and get our fans going and our team going,” Pringle says.
Pella Christian hopes Huisman will find the rim often again in Class 2A Substate Finals this Saturday against zone-heavy Van Meter. The game can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, with coverage starting at 6:30 p.m.
