It was a big day for Pleasantville’s Hailee McCormick yesterday at the IGHSAU State Bowling Championships in Waterloo, as she came home with a medal.
The sophomore, who competes for Des Moines Lincoln, placed sixth out of 54 participants in class 3A with a two-game score of 403. In game one McCormick shot a 177 but turned around with an impressive 226 to push her into medal contention. Cedar Rapids Jefferson’s Kaylee Donner took home top honors with 476 pins.
McCormick had the top score for Des Moines Lincoln who placed fifth in the team standings out of eight.
