Changes to the Knoxville School District schedule caused by the string of snow days over the past two months is one of the items on the agenda for Monday night’s school board meeting.
The board will be asked to consider amending the schedule to make up for lost hours in the classroom; it would involve eliminating some late starts on Monday mornings and adding a few extra days to the schedule, but could result in classes finishing up by the end of May.
The board will also touch on business carried over from their last meeting, which was itself abbreviated due to severe winter weather. They are scheduled to hear reports from the teaching teams at Knoxville Middle School and Knoxville High School.
Also up for discussion is a final request on this year’s field trip to Washington, D.C. and a proposal for the same trip next year.
Monday night’s Knoxville School Board meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the district’s main offices.
