Items on tonight’s Knoxville School Board agenda will deal with helping the school district get caught up after numerous weather-related delays this winter.

The board will be asked to consider changes to the school calendar which would help students and teachers get caught up with missed classroom hours.

A total of 64 hours have been missed to date; the district is allowed to write off 18 of them, and the rest would be made up through additional days on the schedule and the elimination of some Monday late starts.

If there are no further missed school days, classes would finish on May 31st.

The board will also address matters carried over from their weather-shortened meeting on February 11th; featured will be reports from the teaching teams at Knoxville High School and Knoxville Middle School

The school board meeting convenes at 5:30 p.m. at the district’s administrative offices.
