No injuries are reported from a fire at a house in Knoxville early Sunday morning, which started on the home’s front porch.
Firefighters were called to the 900 block of West Main Street around 4:45 a.m. Knoxville Fire Department Chief Cal Wyman says the family was alerted when their smoke detectors went off; fire personnel were able to put it out quickly, and then stayed on site to make sure there were no other hot spots.
Chief Wyman says the fire was apparently touched off by improperly discarded smoking materials; firefighters were at the home for about 90 minutes. Knoxville Police assisted at the scene.
