It’s opening day for the Home Shopping Extravaganza here at KNIA/KRLS, as we begin three days of on-air sales for thousands of dollars in merchandise; and much like the upcoming NCAA basketball tournament, this yearly sale becomes a workday event in offices around our listening area.

People will be turning in from 10:00 a.m. to noon and then again from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. from today through Thursday; and our General Manager Jim Butler tells KNIA/KRLS News listeners turn it into a happening at their workplace.

“We have found over the years that people end up having little parties where a group of people get together in their office or at home or someplace; one person gets on the phone, and they just kind of pass the phone around,” Butler says.

“Each person has their own list of things to buy; so it’s gotten to be a lot of fun for a lot of people…it’s a lot of fun for us; it’s a lot of work but a lot of fun, and we loving saving people a lot of money.”

This year, we’re adding evening hours to the spring sale; callers can dial in on Tuesday and Wednesday between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. or until the calls stop coming in, and buy up items as they remain available.

Quantities are limited; a complete list of items and rules is available on our website at kniakrls.com
