Several area high school students have advanced to state in the Iowa High School Speech Association Individual Contest.

At the district round this past weekend in Grinnell, 28 of 34 events for Pella High School earned Division I “Excellent” ratings, the highest possible score in the opening round, and 13 of 16 acts at Pella Christian did so as well. PCM also had nine groups earn the top score from a judge.

Those with “I” Ratings will advance to the Individual State Speech Contest at North Scott High School in Eldridge, Iowa, on March 9th.
