Central College Junior Kendall Brown, among the nation’s top shot blockers, was named to the all-American Rivers Conference women’s basketball team. Brown, a 6-foot-1 forward, racked up a school-record 73 blocks, easily the most in the league. That broke the season mark of 61 set by all-American forward Tracy Wilson in 1992-93. She ranks ninth in the NCAA Division III with 2.9 blocks per game. Brown was also the conference’s second-leading rebounder with 8.0 per contest. She averaged 9.6 points and shot a team-high 50.3 percent from the field. Last year Brown received Central’s Defensive Player of the Year Award and was the squad’s Rookie of the Year Award winner in 2016-17.
