Central College guards Jamel McKnight and Jaden Moody were named to the American Rivers all-conference men’s basketball squad. Both were second-team picks. McKnight, a 6-foot-2 senior, was chosen for the second straight year. He was second in the league in assists with 4.9 as well as second in minutes played with 32.9 and averaged 13.8 points a game. He shot 46.6 percent from the field, including 44.0 percent from 3-point range, and 80.0 percent from the free throw line. He had 22 steals and averaged 4.1 rebounds. Moody, a 6-3 junior, was Central’s top scorer and ranked fifth in the conference with a 17.9-point mark. He shot 48.5 percent from the floor, including 36.6 percent from 3-point range, and 69.9 percent from the free throw line. HA young Central squad posted an 8-17 record, including a 5-11 league mark, narrowly missing a berth in the six-team conference tournament after reaching the tourney finals the previous three seasons. utch coach Craig Douma surpassed the 100-career wins mark in his seventh season. He’s posted a 101-88 record at Central, piloting the Dutch to two NCAA Division III tournament appearances and the 2013-14 Iowa Conference title.
