Fire at a storage shed in Melcher-Dallas on Friday afternoon left two livestock dead, but no injuries to the owners.

Firefighters were called to 501 A Street SW after 3 o’clock; Melcher-Dallas Fire Chief Zachary Kalvig says two boer goats died in the fire, which may have been started by a heat lamp.

He says there was no significant damage to the structure, and no estimate of the cost is available.

The shed was adjacent to the main house, but didn’t spread to it.
