Three TIF Districts in Knoxville are expected to be formally retired during Monday night’s City Council meeting.

On tonight’s agenda are measures which would repeal the ordinances creating the Highway 14, Westridge and Knoxville Urban Renewal TIF districts; the elimination of those ordinances would effectively put an end to each of these districts.

The council will also discuss a request from a property owner to have the city apply for an Economic Development Community Catalyst grant; this could give the business owner up to $100,000 for building remediation; the city may be required to grant tax abatements, but there would be no direct impact to the budget.

And there will be discussion concerning the 2019 Knoxville Community Survey.

The meeting convenes at 6:15 p.m. in the City Council chambers, and can be heard live on AM 1320/FM 94.3/FM 95.3 KNIA.
