Several students from Pella and Pella Christian schools were recognized for their writing through the Three Rivers Reading Council and their annual contest.
Emmett Manning is a 1st grader at Madison Elementary, and was one of several students who won first prize for their works.
Manning wrote about how his life changed when his grandmother fell ill with cancer, and says it was a way for him to express his feelings about the change in life.
Hear Manning read his short story on today’s Let’s Talk Pella, and stay tuned to 92.1 KRLS this week to hear from more of the winners of the Three Rivers Reading Council writing contest at Pella and Pella Christian.
