The Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance awarded Custom Costumes of Pella with the Heritage IMPACT award this year.

Phyllis Zylstra and Jacki Craver with Custom Costumes say their group is responsible for many of the Dutch outfits and costumes worn during the annual Tulip Time Celebration. Both say they are thankful for the recognition for the years of work they’ve spent trying to keep authenticity to the garments worn by the Tulip Queen, Royal Court, and the many volunteers who spend their time working on the celebration.

Both Zylstra and Craver are nearing completion on the costumes the 2019 Tulip Court will wear while promoting the festival this Spring.
