Moderate snowfall could impact the region throughout the day Thursday. According to the National Weather Service, 2-4″ of snow is possible in Marion County with precipitation beginning Thursday morning and potentially transitioning to a mix in the late afternoon and evening. Travel will likely be hazardous, especially during the evening commute if the current forecast holds. There could be some shifting in overall snowfall amounts as well as forecasts become more refined. The snow comes after two records for cold were broken in Knoxville – Monday and Tuesday’s high temperatures of 7 and 13 degrees respectively were the coldest high temperatures for March 4th and 5th based on data kept by the National Weather Service for Knoxville.
