Will Daniels was named the Division III Central Region men’s field event athlete of the year for the second year in a row on Wednesday. At the American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships, Daniels scored 33 points across five events. He earned all-conference status in four of the five events by placing in the top three. The junior notched runner-up finishes in the 60-meter dash, high jump and pole vault. He also was third in the long jump and sixth in the 60-meter hurdles. Finishing in the top-five regionally in four events , Daniels was previously named an all-region performer. Daniels set the all-time NCAA Division III record for the heptathlon with 5,441 points at the Wartburg Indoor Select on February 1-2, and at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend, Daniels is the top seed in the heptathlon and will also compete in the high jump.
