A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect today for most of south central Iowa for moderate snow expected to impact the region. By this evening, 1-3” of snow will fall in the area. Travel is expected to be difficult, especially during the evening commute. Another storm system is in the forecast this Saturday, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected, which may cause significant snow melt and localized flooding.
