Kids and adults filled the commons at Knoxville High School on Friday evening for Knoxville Hospital and Clinic’s “Spring Into Health” fair.

There were over two dozen vendors covering a wide variety of health interests, everything from dentists to first responders to medical professionals of all types.

Katrina Nelson from Knoxville Hospital and Clinics tells KNIA/KRLS News they got the large turnout they had hoped for, as well as a wide selection of participants.

“We have the eye doctor, Dr. Lilly Maasdam that’s talking about the different types of green food prep; then you have the physical therapy department that’s doing…a balance test; as well as the fire department, that’s passing out the red fire hats,” Nelson says.

“You have a wide variety of different booths and different games going on, and it’s really nice for kids to…get that up close and personal contact.”

Other favorites such as the Tooth Fairy, Miss Mary Strawberry and a sprint car from the Knoxville Raceway were on display during the course of the evening. And just about every vendor had fun toys and information to give to the children on hand, to encourage them to get outside in the spring and stay healthy all year long.
