Central’s baseball team is off to a fast start, winning three of their first four games in Florida. The Dutch split with Martin Luther Sunday, winning 15-2 and losing 3-2, and then swept Husson of Maine 3-0 and 5-3.
In all four games, Pella native Tanner Wood has had a hot bat, going 7 for 14, hitting a homerun, and driving in five. Pella alumnus Adam Carey earned a win on the mound against Martin Luther, going 4 ⅓ innings and giving up two earned runs.
Freshman from Knoxville Ben Wallace has made an appearance in relief on the mound, and is still searching for his first hit of the new season.
