Pella Christian’s three-time All-State Kicker will be staying in central Iowa to continue his career.

Nathan De Bruin will be a Drake Bulldog this fall, and says he looks forward to staying close to home to play the game he loves at a high level and to study at a well-regarded institution.

“I just sat down with my family and talked a lot about it,” De Bruin says. “Honestly, while I was up there, I loved the culture, the atmosphere up there. I also loved that you get challenged not only athletically, but academically and I’m not going to lie, the fact that it’s only 35 to 45 minutes away from home–that impacted my decision quite a bit.”

De Bruin finished his Eagles football career 15 for 21 on field goals and converted on 175 of 183 point after attempts. He also booted 62 career touchbacks on a Pella Christian offense that ranked among the best in Class 1A from 2016-2018, making back-to-back trips to the UNI Dome.
