This is the second year for The Well’s week of service projects; and with their new center about to open in Knoxville, the organization is aiming to recruit as many Knoxville volunteers as possible, and find as many projects to work on as they can.
“Transform” is The Well’s name for this week of community service; individuals or teams of volunteers may help out from Monday, May 6th through Saturday, May 11th on a variety of jobs.
Eden Youngberg with The Well tells KNIA/KRLS News they want to round up as many volunteers and tackle as many service projects as they can over the course of the week.
“Our major areas of focus will be Knoxville and Pella, and we do projects ranging from porch repair, (building) wheelchair ramps…to lawn care for individuals who can’t do that physically themselves, to just some park upkeep. Last year, we even planted trees; we’ve done moving projects, construction projects, all kinds of things,” Youngberg says.
Clubs, companies, church groups and individuals are invited to sign up to help out with a project; and any organization or person in need of their services is also encouraged to get in touch with The Well and seek out their help.
