The audit report for the Knoxville School District is in, and everything shows the district’s finances are clean and up to date.

The audit for the 2017-2018 school year was compiled by Nolte, Cornman and Johnson, a CPA firm based in Newton; it was formally presented to the school board during Monday night’s meeting.

District Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News the district staff does the most it can to make sure everything is accounted for, and visible for the public to see.

“Making sure everything is well-documented, taxpayer money is being spent exactly the way the law allows us to, and that we’re actually pretty conservative with how we spend money. We do it to benefit students, but we also make sure that we’re being good stewards of the money for our taxpayers and getting the biggest bang for our buck as well,” Pearson says.

Copies of the audit are available for the public to view at any time during regular business hours at the district’s administrative offices.
