Pella Historical Society and Museums will open for regular hours beginning Monday. Executive Director Valerie Van Kooten says most of their exhibits and displays will be open, including the new Scholte Gardens when the weather clears up this spring.
Van Kooten says there’s a new exhibit called “Here Come the Brides,” Pella Brides from the 1890s to the 1930s, and a display featuring Pella’s artists from the 1850s to now.
However, she says the boyhood home of Wyatt Earp is undergoing renovations as part of the Forging our Future campaign. Van Kooten says they’ll be holding a kick-off event with the history series on Thursday, March 21st, called “meet Maime,” which is about Iowa’s only First Lady.
