Familiar faces surround the Pleasantville girls’ track program this spring, as they gear up for the outdoor season.
The Trojans bring back a core group of individuals in the sprints, distance, and field events headlined by three returners from the 4x100m relay team that qualified for state in 2018. Head Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA Sports the team is making the most of their practices despite not being able to be outside because of the weather.
“They are doing a lot of workouts in the hallways and in the gym. Sometimes kids can get shin splints and injuries inside but so far we haven’t had an issue. Being inside can test the patience of the kids but they haven’t let that affect them.”
The Trojans travel to Iowa State University on Monday for an indoor meet.
