A busy week for the Warren County Board of Supervisors continued Thursday afternoon, after the board met to discuss bids for purchasing gravel rock to place on roads. The board received three bids, eventually choosing the low bid of Bruening Rock Products to purchase gravel for $647,000. The board previously approved the Warren County Engineer’s Office to use reserve funds for the purchase of gravel, and it will be placed on unpaved roads as soon as possible. The board also considered an amendment to their contract with Shive-Hattery Inc to purchase A/V equipment for the Justice Center Project that was requested by Iowa Courts. The amendment was tabled by the board until their next meeting, awaiting on an agreement from the court system that they will pay a portion of the cost for the equipment.
