As the warmer weather draws nearer, the Indianola Street Department has been hard at work to fix the potholes on city streets over the last several weeks. Streets Supervisor Jason Etnyre tells KNIA News mother nature has not been cooperative as the temperatures have to come up before any repairs can be started, but his guys have been working hard to get it done.
“Throughout this week, the department has laid down approximately 12 tons of product, and that is a lot considering it is laid down with a shovel. Each shovel load is around 10 pounds, and the average pothole takes around 20 pounds of product to repair, so that’s a lot of potholes when you start adding up. This is a very labor intensive type of repair.”
The Street Department has repaired approximately a quarter of city streets so far. If any residents wish to report a pothole on their street, you can do so at the city website.
