The start of defense arguments in the Jason Carter case have been delayed, while the defense studies new information provided by prosecutors.

Additional files have been turned over to the defense by Marion County Attorney Ed Bill and his team; the defense requested time to study it all.

The state rested its case on Friday against the Marion County man accused of the June 2015 shooting of his mother, Shirley.
