The start of defense arguments in the Jason Carter case was delayed Monday, while the defense studied new information provided by prosecutors.

Additional files have been turned over to the defense by Marion County Attorney Ed Bull and his team; the defense requested time to study it all.

The state rested its case on Friday against the Marion County man accused of the June 2015 shooting of his mother, Shirley.
